Xbooru automatically tags images the minimum of 5tags & the user could add their own tags but the system would filter out tags that were to general & un-descriptive that could be added to a large percentage of images or ridiculous tags.

then we'll have people posting gay or futa stuff tagless with no way to fix it.

I'm quite new here, but I've noticed somenthig: there are a lot (and I mean A LOT) of posts tagged as "translated", but they aren't. Why people can't just add the right tags when uploading??

It's because people are extremely lazy or are so eager to share their images that they don't take care to at least give them the minimal amount of tags when they are needed. It's just something we have to live with.

Likely causes:

- Users copying the exact same tag list to all pages of a comic regardless of whether each is is actually translated or not. They should be tagging each page individually. Example:
xbooru.com/index.php?page...ranslated+comic+sex+tagme
(Note that at time of posting, all 323 images from that search were uploaded by the same user.)

- Users copying the tag list of whatever site they uploaded the image from but failing to copy the notes containing the translation. Example: post #333157

In the 2nd case, you can use the "similar" link to find the translated version (that's how I found that one). The 1st one is simply a case of bad tagging.

If the ones posting the image are the only ones who are able to tag the images then the images would barely be tagged at all. I think that the ones who post the images are the ones who do all the bad tagging.
