A [[demon girl|female demon]] who sexually preys on men. They are portrayed as incredibly beautiful and hypnotically seductive. Traditionally they only visit men, but in anime it is not uncommon for them to go after women as well. Their physical features are much the same as any other [[demon girl]]: they typically have large black [[demon wings|bat-like wings]] and/or [[head wings]], [[demon horns]], and a [[demon tail|black arrow or spade-tipped tail]]. Because physical characteristics alone are not enough to distinguish a succubus from ordinary demon girls, this tag should only be used for characters engaging in typically succubus-like behavior: seducing mortals, sucking out their life force, etc. In some cases, artists may depict [[demon boy]]s wearing typical clothing and having the mannerisms of succubi. These characters may be tagged as succubi on their original page (fitting the literal definition of someone who "lies under" or bottoms), but will be tagged as incubi here for sake of gender. The archetypal succubus in anime is based on [[Morrigan Aensland]] from the [[Capcom]] fighting videogame [[vampire (game)|Vampire]] (English name: Darkstalkers). h4.
