Guro is a Japanese term derived from the English word "grotesque". It is a genre of art dealing with themes of gore, mutilation, disfigurement, extreme violence or something that's just weird beyond comprehension (though the last one is considered an archaic definition).
Guro does not simply refer to violent or bloody imagery, but in fact extreme graphic violence. Do not use this tag for images where the blood tag would suffice.
Body_horror or the general presence of organs should not be considered guro unless extreme violence is involved.

(It should be noted that the rule 34 definition of ‘guro’ does not reflect the actual definition of the artistic genre, which in fact has a rich history and focuses less on extreme gore, and moreso on subjects that are grotesque)
